Widmer's New Berry Special & 100 Days of Hefe
Widmer Brothers out of Oregon just released their latest hefeweisen – Hefe Berry Lime – just in time for summer. Doesn't hurt that it also coincides with their 4th annual "100 Days of Hefe" which is where the brewery hosts 100 local events over 100 days in the Portland area from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
It's not only a great reason time to drink up some delicious hefe – it is becoming increasingly hot after all – but it also gives people an opportuniy to meet members of the brewing team and brewery co-founder Rob Widmer and BONUS you can win prizes like custom Hefe bikes, Hefe BBQ grills, and Hefe golf bags throughout the summer.
The event kicks off this Sunday (May 28th) and will run through Labor Day, you can get the full list of events here should you find yourself in Portland this summer. The rest of us will just have to settle for enjoying this delicious new beer.
The Hefe Berry Lime is a play off their original Hefe, but they added Oregon marionberries, blackberries, lime, and kaffir lime leaves to really give it a refreshingly tart taste that still satisfies like a cool lemonade on a breezy summer afternoon. At 4.1% ABV and only 16 IBUs, we will definitely be adding it to our coolers this summer.
