No Shame In My Milkshake IPA Game

"I will never put fruit in my IPA," said almost every craft brewer a few years back, but now many are singing a different tune, a tune more reminiscent of Dwight Schrute, "there aint no shame in my game." Cue Marin Brewing Co's No Shame Apricot Milkshake IPA – a 6.3% IPA brewed with apricot, lactose, and vanilla.

The fruited milkshake IPA style is said to have originated with Tired Hands Brewery in Pennsylvania and Omnipollo Brewery in Stockholm, Sweden. And from this writer's perspective, loving both milk stouts & IPAs and who doesn't love milkshakes, this definitely ups the ante for craft brewers pushing the limits of what a beer can be.

Unfortunately, those of us outside of California will just have to wait to try it as it's only available on tap at Marin Brewing and in sixth-and half-barrel kegs. So if you find yourself in San Francisco and fancy a trip to Marin, let us know how it is and more importantly, if it brings more or less boys to the yard.
