Belgian Stout Please, With A Cherry On Top
Don't you hate when you can't decide whether you want a Belgian or a stout? Just have both! Introducing Cherry Top Belgian Stout of Garage Brewing CO out of California. This stout touts 9.2%ABV and only 35 IBUs, is brewed with Belgian yeasts and cherries then aged for 6 months in whiskey barrels from Heaven Hill. This is their 4th release out of their barrel-aged series.
Heaven Hill is gaining traction as one of the best whiskey distillers in Kentucky, especially when they lend their barrels to great breweries like Garage Brewing Co. According to Brewmast Guy Bartmess, "your beer is only as good as the barrel it comes out of." And this barrel will definitely be highlighting the cherry, chocolate and vanilla tones you'd expect from a cherry stout with the added nuances of Belgian brewing.
Look for it on tap at their brewpub in Temecula, CA and in 22 oz bottles at select locations throughout Southern California. And if you find it, feel free to shoot some our way or at least let us know how it stacks up in the comments below – pretty pretty please with a cherry on top.
