The Bear Legacy
Bear Republic Brewing is celebrating 20 years of great beer with the release of 4 rotating legacy beers as an ode to the beers that made them who they are today. Red Rocket Ale, Hop Rod Rye, Peter Brown Tribute Ale & Big Bear Black Stout.
The Red Rocket Ale is a Scottish style red ale and Bear Republic views it as the "brew that started it all." With a 6.8% ABV and 67 IBUs, and a slew of awards ranging from Strong Ale Silver in the 1998 to the Bronze in the World Beer Cup. This beauty will be available from April through June.
Hop Rod Rye, in additional to sounding extremely close to the name of our favorite party-loving, pool-jumping dare devil, this IPA will not fail to disappoint any rye lovers out there with a solid 8% and multiple awards as well. Look for it from July to September.
Next up is their Peter Brown Tribute Ale - a brown ale with plenty of sweet molasses and brown sugar notes to go around the table come turkey dinner time. Check for this 6.3% ale between October and December.
And finally they'll round out the rotation with the Big Bear Black Stout from January to March - a black stout that you can, as they say, "really sink your teeth into." Again, they've won more awards than I can reasonable mention here, but we'll definitely be keeping an eye out next year for this 8.1% black stout, a beer even motor oil Bart could get behind.
