The Fall Beers Are Coming
The Fall Beers Are Coming, The Fall Beers Are Coming! And we couldn't be happier. Even though it's still in the 90s daily down here in Florida, we're already excited to see that breweries are already announcing their Fall releases. First up: Hi-Wire Brewing Co out of Asheville, NC.
Hi-Wire has been on our radar for a while now and with our trip to Asheville coming up quick in October, we're even more excited to hear what they'll have on tap then. They've just announced 4 of their Fall beers: Zirkusfest Oktoberfest, Lion Tamer Rye IPA, Southern Hemisphere IPA, and finally their Apricot Sour Ale.
Up first is the 2016 Great American Beer Festival Gold Medal Winner for German Beer Maerzen Category: Zirkusfest Oktoberfest – a traditional Maerzen that clocks in at 6%ABV. Look for it on draught and in six-packs throughout Hi-Wire Brewing’s entire distribution footprint beginning in August, as well as both of Hi-Wire’s taprooms.
For the 5th year in a row, we get to face the Lion Tamer Rye IPA – a robust 7%ABV IPA that's ruby red in color and who's citrus fruit flavors are rounded out by the unmistakable spice bite of rye. Also available in six-packs and on draft, this beer will see Hi-Wire’s entire footprint beginning today (July 28).
We also get to journey to a palette Down Under with their brand new Southern Hemisphere IPA – a 7%ABV IPA brewed with hops straight from Australia and New Zealand that's citrus-y and light and still has a bite of bitterness/resin that fades quickly and finished dry. Look for it in 4-packs of 16oz cans beginning August 14th.
And last, but certainly not least, their Apricot Sour Ale – a highly-anticipated, 11-month project brought to delightful fruition. This 8.5%ABV sour has been aged in red wine barrels, balancing out the sweet apricot to finish level and dry. Look for it beginning August 5th, but look hard because these 22oz bottles will be gone quick.
