New Episode: 120 Minute from Dogfish Head

You'll never guess, but this week Ben is back and he's brought us – yet again – a beer from Dogfish Head Brewing Co. This isn't a Dogfish Head sponsor-ed podcast (though we wouldn't be opposed *hint hint*), but we do just really love the creativity coming out of their brewery out in Delaware. And this beer is no exception, 120 Minute is probably in our top 10, if not top 5, favorite beers of all time so it's only fitting that we share this beauty with our second mic, Ben.

120 Minute is the strongest IPA in the market right now with about 18% ABV (although it can vary between 15 and 20) and 120 IBUs (see what they did there with the name). They also have the 60 Minute and 90 Minute IPAs for which they are incredibly well known, but this one only comes out in April and November, so if you spot it, get it.

The picture below is actually a comparison between the 90 Minute (on the left) and the 120 Minute (on the right) and just by looking at it you can see the different. The 90 is surprisingly darker and you'd think that the 120 would pack a bigger punch, but really it's not bad, in fact some say it's actually slightly sweeter than the 90 Minute.

And don't be in a rush to drink it all at once, first of all this is a great beer to let sit for about 30 minutes to take the chill out of it before drinking, it'll really open up it's flavors then. Second, you can even stockpile to get you through the months between releases since this is one of the few IPAs that you can actually lay down and age for a couple years (just store it in a dark place – beers hate light).

Overall, this beer never disappoints, nor does its brewery up at Dogfish Head. Check 'em out, you wont be disappointed. And next week we promise to tell Ben he's got to pick something other than Dogfish Head.
