New Episode: Devil's Chair from Red Cypress Brewery
This time we're going local, Florida local. Geo & Ben are spotlighting a new-to-our-podcast brewery, but an old favorite of ours for the last few years – Red Cypress Brewery. Pull up a seat as they enjoy The Devil's Chair from Red Cypress, a 6% IPA that "packs a sinister punch" as the can says.
The story of Devil's Chair comes from a spot in Cassadaga, Fl, not far from Winter Springs where Red Cypress is located, and Cypress lore says if you place a beer on the Devil's Chair at midnight it'll be gone by morning. Red Cypress is known for taking a lot of their beers from little-known Florida attractions like Cassadaga and Spook Hill.
We fell in love with them, not only because Spook Hill is delicious, but they're good friends with another podcast crew we love – Tom & Dan. They're such close buddies that they even let the scumbags that are Tom & Dan come up with their own beer – Middle of the Road – that they then sold to their loyal BDM fans at a special event held at the brewery.
As for Devil's Chair, it certainly doesn't disappoint. With 55 IBUs it definitely isn't for hop-haters out there, but once you're getting interested in IPAs, this wouldn't be a bad one to check out. It's bright & fruity but still ends with the traditional bitter IPA taste.
